Menon, Atiqul, Palak, Gazi shown arrested in killing case

A Dhaka court has showed four people, including former ministers Rashed Khan Menon and Golam Dastagir Gazi, arrested in a case lodged over the killing of Md Shahjahan in the capital's Mohakhali area during the July-August Mass Uprising, report agencies.

The other two people, who have been shown arrested in the case, are former mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Atiqul Islam and former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadekur Rahman passed the order on as police produced the four before the court and pleaded to show them arrested in the case filed with the city's Banani Police Station. The court then ordered that the four accused be sent back to jail.
