Menon president, Mallick GS of Workers Party

Rashed Khan Menon MP was reelected president of the Workers Party of Bangladesh, while Anisur Rahman Mallick elected general secretary (GS) at the party's eighth congress that concluded in the city Wednesday.
On the last day of the congress, a 61-member central committee of the party with 15-member politburo was formed through elections, according to the party announcement, reports UNB.
Besides, a three-member control commission with Shafiqur Rahman Majumder as chairman and another three-member audit committee with Shafiuddin Ahmed as chairman were constituted at the congress.
The elected politburo members include outgoing party general secretary Bimal Biswas, Abul Bashar, Nurul Hasan, Fazle Hossain Badsha MP, Shafiuddin Ahmed, Hafizur Rahman Bhuiyan, Iqbal Kabir Zahid, Nur Ahmed Bakul, Prof Dr Sushantah Das, Mahmudul Hasan Manik, Manoj Saha, Hazera Sultana and Kamrul Ahsan.
