Milan transferred to Rangpur jail

RANGPUR, May 08 (bdnews24.com): Former BNP state minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milan was transferred to Rangpur jail from Comilla early Saturday.
Hundreds of BNP activists protested in front of the jail gate at that time.
BNP's international secretary Milan was brought to Rangpur jail at around 1:00am.
As the news of his transfer leaked out during the day, party supporters started to gather in front the jail gate from the evening.
The vehicle carrying Milan came in front of the jail at 12:15am.
BNP activists stopped the vehicle and started to protest.
The protesters demanded the release of Milan and withdrawal of all cases against him. They blocked the vehicle's path for half an hour.
Later the police and prison guards freed the vehicle and took it inside the jail.
Nazmun Nahar Baby, vice-president of Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal and wife of Milan, was present at the protest.
She alleged that Milan was being transferred to Rangpur jail from Comilla for political revenge.
