The High Court (HC) granted permanent bail Tuesday to Asif Adnan, a suspected member of militant outfit 'Ansarullah Bangla Team,' reports UNB.
An HC bench of Justice M Abdul Aowal and Justice Abu Taher M Saifur Rahman granted the bail, after hearing the arguments of both the prosecution and the defence lawyers over granting bail to Asif Adnan, son of former HC judge Abdus Salam Mamun.
On November 10, an HC bench of Justice Nizamul Haque Nasim and Justice SH Md Nurul Huda granted a four-week interim bail to Asif and also asked the government to explain within four weeks why the accused should not be granted a permanent bail.
Asif was accused in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act 2009 after he along with another youth was arrested by detectives from the capital in September.
