A new prosecution witness in the trial of Mir Qasem Ali, facing the charges of crimes against humanity, said on Monday the incumbent central executive committee member of Jamaat-e-Islami grilled the innocent civilians including him in Al-Badr camp in Chittagong during the war of liberation, reports BSS.
"On the dawn of December 14, 1971, me and my fellow inmates were shifted from Al-Badr camp situated in the Dost Mohammad Punjabi Building in Khatunganj area to Dalim Hotel camp in Hill Road area in Chittagong town.
There, we were taken to a room, where Mir Qasem Ali was already present. He told us to say whatever we know, but we did not tell him anything. He then told us, 'you all will be killed'," said Sunil Kanti Bardhan alias Dulal.
Sunil, a 72-year-old former businessman, appeared at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 as the fourth prosecution witness (PW) and gave a relatively long deposition which continued from 11.10 am to 12.30 pm.

In his deposition, the PW-4 said that innocent civilians and freedom fighters were tortured and subsequently killed at the Dalim Hotel Al-Badr camp on the order of Mir Qasem.
