A Dhaka court on Sunday acquitted BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir of charges in a case filed in 2013 for obstructing police from discharging their duties and attempted murder, reports BSS.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zakir Hossain passed the order following a High Court directive, defence counsel Syed Joynal Abedin Mejbah told the news agency.
Police on March 2, 2013, filed the case against 28 people, including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, for allegedly obstructing police and attempting to murder.
