Miscreants kill Sramik League leader

LAXMIPUR, Nov 23 (bdnews24.com): A leader of the Sramik League, a labour front organisation of ruling Awami League (AL), has allegedly been murdered. The family members of the deceased have claimed that the murderers were all BNP supporters.
The deceased was identified as Md Shahabuddin, a resident of village Kushakhali and Sramik League's convenor of Kushakhali Union Parishad (UP) unit under Laxmipur Sadar Upazila.
The victim's wife Bibi Hazera Begum told the news agency that 'Kabir', 'Jahangir', and 'Nasir' came to their house late Monday night.
"They called my husband out of the house and took him away on an auto-rickshaw and hacked him to death leaving his body on the road in front of our house", she added.
AL president of the upazila M Alauddin said that the local criminals backed by BNP had become organised and gone on a killing spree against AL leaders and activists.
