Moheshkhali war crimes suspect dies

War crimes suspect of Moheshkhali upazila of Cox's Bazar Samsuddoha, who was arrested on May 23 on charge of committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday, reports UNB.
DMCH inspector Mozammel Huq said Samsuddoha (90) had been undergoing treatment at the hospital since May 25 in police custody due to old age complications and he breathed his last around 2:20 pm on Wednesday.
On May 23, police in a drive arrested Shamsuddoha from Baradail village in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox's Bazar district.
On May 21, the International Crimes Tribunal-2 issued a warrant for the arrest of 16 war crimes suspects of Cox's Bazar district, including Samsuddoha, for their alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
