The Workers Party of Bangladesh (WPB) will send the second consignment of relief materials to help the earthquake victims in Nepal.
It also called upon the countrymen to stand by the Himalayan country's victims of the devastating earthquake.
"There is a human disaster in Nepal due to earthquake. It is our responsibility to stand by the Nepalese people. And for this reason we (Workers Party) have taken some programmes," Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said this on Saturday at a press briefing held at party's central office at Topkhana road in the city.
The 2015 Nepal earthquake (also known as the Gorkha earthquake) killed more than 8,000 people and injured many on April 25 last.
Mr Menon said that the WPB held a meeting on April 28 that took the decision for sending the relief materials collected from across the country to be sent to Nepal.
The relief and disaster management committee of the party (WPB) is dealing with the issue.
He said they had already sent some relief materials to Nepal collected earlier soon after the earthquake.
"We have taken quick initiatives for sending relief to Nepal. Any one interested in helping the earthquake victims could send their relief materials to our party office which will continue receiving the relief throughout the current month," he said.
Mr Menon, who is also the president of the WPB said they would send the second consignment of relief materials (cash/ kinds; such as materials for rebuilding houses) to Nepal through Banglaband land port shortly.
