COMILLA, June 21 (UNB): Former minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain was allowed two days police remand today in a case of attack on and ransacking the house of an Awami League leader about five years ago.
The court rejected his bail petition in another case of fraudulence.
While granting police remand the court asked the investigator to grill him with care after medical check-up.
Mosharraf, also BNP standing committee member, faces a number of cases including corruption.
In the present case he and 33 of his associates were accused of attacking and ransacking the house of Awami League central leader Subid Ali Bhuiyan on September 5, 2002.
In the other case, Monir Hossain of Daudkandi accused Mosharraf of taking Tk 0.45 million from him with promise of job in Hotel Sheraton. But he was not given the job.
