The High Court (HC) sent on Wednesday the bail petition of BNP leader Dr Khandker Mosharraf Hossain in a money laundering case to the Chief Justice for hearing, reports UNB.
An HC bench comprising Justice Syed M Ziaul Karim and Justice Sheikh M Zakir Hossain passed the order after the state counsels opposed the hearing in the bench saying it has no authority to hear the petition in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission.
Mosharraf's lawyer Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon said they filed the petition for interim bail of the BNP leader as he is ill.
