‘Mostaq, Zia to be tried posthumously’

State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hasan said on Wednesday Mostak and Zia will be tried posthumously for their alleged involvement in the brutal assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports BSS.
"The trial of a part of the killers, involved in the assassination of August 15 of 1975, has been completed . . . But the masterminds who remained behind the scene, including Khandaker Mostaq Ahmed and Ziaur Rahman, will be tried posthumously," he said.
The state minister came up with the remarks while speaking at a function organised by Bangabandhu Academy e at the Institute of Diploma Engineers at Kakrail in the city, marking the 56th birth anniversary of Shaheed Sheikh Russel, youngest son of the Father of the Nation and youngest brother of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
