Awami League (AL) presidium member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said Friday movement can't be launched by announcing its date and time, rather it requires organisational strength and courage, reports BSS.
"I heard prior to the Eid-ul-Fitr that Begum Zia will start topple the government movement after the Eid but she didn't mention after which Eid she will launch her movement. The Eid, Khaleda Zia has mentioned for her movement, will never come in Bangladesh," he said.
The senior AL leader said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion in the city.
Awami Jubo League (AJL) organised the discussion in front of the AL central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital in observance of the 84th birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
AJL chairman Omar Faruque Chowdhury chaired the discussion, also addressed, among others, by general secretary Harun-ar-Rashid, Dhaka City AJL (South) unit president Ismail Chowdhury Samrat and Dhaka City AJL (North) unit president Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil.
Mohammad Nasim said BNP will have to wait until 2019 for the next parliament polls. "The polls to the 11th Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament) will not be held even a day before the year 2019. National election was held in Bangladesh in time in accordance with the constitution. The country has been marching ahead under Sheikh Hasina's leadership and none can stall its forward march."
