Historic Mujibnagar Day will be observed on April 17 (Sunday) commemorating the formation of the provisional government of independent Bangladesh during the War of Liberation in 1971, reports UNB.
An elaborate programme has been chalked out to observe the historic day in a befitting manner.
The national flag will be hoisted at Mujibnagar Memorial Monument at Mujibnagar in Meherpur district immediately after the sunrise.
Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina will place a wreath at the monument in the morning while a contingent of freedom fighters will give her a guard of honour.
Later, Hasina will address a public meeting on the monument premises.
Different government and non-government organisations have also taken up programmes to observe the day.
