Myanmar govt behaving like a demon with Rohingyas: Muhith

SYLHET, Sept 28 (BSS): Blasting Myanmar government for creating Rohingya crisis, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said on Thursday the government of that country has been behaving with the Rohingya people like a demon.
"The inhuman activities of Myanmar government will be curbed in the way the demon was killed by the Goddess Durga," said the finance minister while talking to journalists after visiting the Puja Mandaps in Lakkatura and Malchhari tea gardens.
The minister distributed clothes among the poor tea laborers and donated money to the Puja Mandaps.
While speaking at separate programmes at Khadim Nagar and Devpur Puja Mandaps, Muhith said the government strongly handled the evil forces in the past.
The government is committed to curbing all evil forces which will carry out destructive activities to destroy peace and stability in the society, he added.
"The prime aim of the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is to create an amicable environment in the country so that the people from allmwalks of life can celebrate all festivals safely, comfortably and peacefully like Durga Puja," he said.
Sylhet district Awami League vice-president and Sadar Upazila Parishad chairman Ashfaque Ahmad, city Awami League joint secretary Bijit Chowdhury, district unit joint secretary Sujit Ali Rafique, Dr Arman Ahmed Shiplu, Nizam Uddin, Advocate Afsar Ahmad and Mokhlesur Rahman, among others, were present at the programme.
