Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque on Sunday announced the names of 118 more martyred intellectuals in the fourth phase, raising the total number to 560, reports BSS.
The ministry announced 191 names of martyred intellectuals on April 7 in 2021, 143 names on May 29, 2022 and 108 names on February 15 this year, says a release.
As per another notification, the persons, including litterateurs, philosophers, painters, teachers, researchers, scientists, journalists, lawyers, doctors, engineers, architects, sculptors, employees of government and private sectors, politicians, social workers, cultural workers, persons who were involved in films, drama and arts, who had played important roles in the birth of independent Bangladesh and were killed or got missing forever by Pakistani occupation forces or their collaborators, will be known as martyred intellectuals.
