Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday collected a nomination form for the upcoming 12th parliamentary elections. He bought the nomination form for Noakhali-5 constituency (Companiganj and Kabirhat) from Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua and deputy office secretary Sayem Khan at the party's central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the city. Earlier, Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the selling of party nomination forms for the elections Saturday morning. AL Advisory Council Member Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed collected the nomination form for Sheikh Hasina to participate in the polls from Gopalganj-3 constituency (Tungipara and Kotalipara). — BSS

Workers Party of Bangladesh President Rashed Khan Menon and General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha on Saturday collected party nomination forms as the party started selling nomination papers to pick its candidates to contest in the upcoming 12th parliament elections. Besides, Noor Ahmad Bakul collected nomination paper for Meherpur-2, Advocate Mustafa Lutfulla for Satkhira-1, Sheikh Hafizur Rahman for Narail-2, Tipu Sultan for Barisal-3, Ibrahim Khalil for Natore-1, Sabdul Hossain Khan for Jashore-4, Zakir Hossain for Pabna-5, Haji Bashirul Alam for Cox's Bazar-1, Md Zahurul Haque Tutul for Barisal-2, Mujibur Rahman for Kushtia-1, Karam Ali for Dhaka-1, Golam Najob Pawar Chowdhury for Tangail-7 and Advocate Nazrul Islam for Narail-1 collected the forms, said a press release. — BSS
JP-Manju to start distributing nomination forms today
Jatiya Party (Manju) will start distribution of party nomination forms for the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) polls under 14-party alliance with 'Boat' symbol from today (Sunday). The interested candidates will be able to submit nominations at JP central office here till 24 November paying a fee of Taka 10,000, a press release said Saturday. JP central office is located at 5/5, 2nd Floor, Block-A, Lalmatia, Dhaka-1207. Interested candidates can also dial to their office numbers--01712-025137 and 0170-5541719 - for any information regarding nomination form collection and submission. JP Chairman Anwar Hossain Manju, MP, has sent a letter to the Election Commission (EC) mentioning that JP will participate in the upcoming 12th national elections as part of the 14-party alliance. — BSS

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASOD) has started distributing party nomination forms to pick its candidates to contest in the upcoming 12th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections. JASOD as well as Party Nomination Board President Hasanul Haq Inu on Saturday inaugurated the distribution of nomination papers at a function at the party's central office in the city's Bangabandhu Avenue area this afternoon, said a press release. Member Secretary of the Party Nomination Board Shirin Akhter and members Advocate Rabiul Alam and Mosharef Hossain were present on the occasion, among others. On the first day of nomination paper distribution, 213 aspirant candidates, including JASOD President Hasanul Haq Inu and General Secretary Shirin Akhter, collected forms. — BSS
