Narsingdi dist admin orders prisoners to surrender

NARSINGDI, July 22 (UNB): Narsingdi district administration has ordered the prisoners, who escaped from the district central jail during the violence over quota protests on Friday afternoon, to surrender.

"All escaped inmates are ordered to surrender at Narsingdi district jail or any nearby police station without any delay," a public notification signed by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bodiul Alam said on Monday.

"Strict legal action will be taken against those who do not surrender," added the notification.

Earlier on Friday afternoon, over 800 prisoners escaped from the district jail when miscreants broke the jail gate allowing prisoners to flee.
