Nasim for fighting dengue in unison

Awami League (AL) presidium member and central 14-party alliance spokesman Mohammed Nasim on Wednesday urged all, including city corporations, to work together to deal with the dengue situation, reports BSS.

He made the call while addressing a mosquito eliminating programme on the premises of Banani Bidyaniketan School and College in the capital.

As per the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the 14-party alliance arranged the awareness programme.

Urging people to clean up their homestead and surrounding so that mosquito cannot breed, Nasim said alongside the government and the city corporations, all should come forward to destroy Aedes mosquito.

He called upon AL leaders and activists to create awareness among people about dengue and Aedes mosquito.

This is not time for doing politics, the AL leader said, adding that now all should work together for the interest of the country's people.

Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, former disaster management and relief minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Jatiya Party (JP) general secretary Sheikh Shahidul Islam and general secretary of AL Dhaka South City unit Shahe Alam Murad, among others, spoke.
