Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim urged on Monday all including local elites, private organizations to come forward side by side with government efforts for ensuring healthcare facilities of the people and its development, reports BSS.
The Minister made the call at a press briefing organised by Health and Family Welfare Ministry at its conference room in observance of the World Health Day-2015.
World Health Day observes on April 7 every year since 1948 marking the founding anniversary of World Health Organization (WHO). The topic for 2015 is "safe nutritious food for healthy life".
State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Malik, Health Secretary Sayed Monzurul Islam, director general of health directorate Professor Din Mohammad Nurul Haq, director general of family planning directorate Nur Hossain Talukdar were present.
Nasim said the government has already formulated National Food Safety Act 2013 which already been effective. Ensuring food security, the health minister said, works are going on to finalize national food safety policy.
