A senior Awami League leader urged on Sunday Khaleda Zia to settle her legal problems and prepare for the upcoming 2019 elections, reports BSS.
"We do not want to keep any political party away from polls, so Khaleda should settle her legal problems and prepare for the upcoming 2019 elections, "Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said.
Referring to a recent comment by the BNP chairperson that petrol bombs were thrown by policemen during the 92-day-long opposition programme, he said, "It indicates how frustrated she is!"
Referring to the World Bank's assessment that Bangladesh had reached middle-income status, he said, "Only BNP remains oblivious to all the development activities going around".
The minister was speaking at a function at the Shilpakala Academy in the city, marking the 'Badr Day.'
The meeting was presided over by film actor ATM Shamsuzzaman, while prominent religious and political leaders participated in the discussion.
