Nation comes out of crisis, concern thru election: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal on Thursday said the nation has come out of crisis and concern through successful completion of 12th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections held on January 7, reports BSS.

"But it is not the permanent solutions. If crisis is created centering elections after an interval of every five years, the country's development will get hampered," he told a thanks-giving ceremony at Agargaon's Nirbachan Bhaban in the city.

EC secretary Md Jahangir Alam chaired the function while four other election commissioners and commission's officials and employees were present.

The CEC underscored the need for reformation of the electoral process to make polls more acceptable.
