National Revolutionary Council, a new political party, has announced a 77-member convening committee, reports UNB.
Anisur Rahman, a former student of Dhaka University, was made its chairman while Mohammad Shafiur Rahman its organising chief, said a press release on Wednesday.
Besides, Khomeni Ehsan was made the convener of the party and Hasan Mohammad Arif, a student of Chattogram University, was made the member secretary.
Besides, a number of female students, researchers, teachers, physicians, engineers, journalists, artists, entrepreneurs and businessmen were also made its members.
Earlier on December 16, the National Revolutionary Council emerged as a new political party from the Dhaka University Central Mosque.
The task of the convening committee, formed for six months, would be to organise people, build a political movement to abolish fascism and draft a new constitution ahead of the national elections.
To achieve this, efforts will be made to create political and social consensus by engaging with all key citizens of the country.
Besides, the party will form its metropolitan, district and upazila level committees in all divisions including Dhaka.
It will draft its constitution, form a party fund, and establish a central office with the first central council to be held in May.
Senior Convener Mohammad Shamsuddin, joint convener Engineer Moinul Islam, Zakir Majumdar, Rotarian Rabeya Akhter, Nusrat Rahman, Tamima Zobaida, Salman Bin Faruk, Dr Mohammad Zahirul Islam and Syed Kutub were among the committee members.
