NATORE, Feb 24 (UNB): The district BNP has called a dawn-to-dusk shutdown in the district for Wednesday protesting warrants issued for the arrest of BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman.

BNP's district unit general secretary Aminul Haque announced the shutdown from a rally in front of the party office at Alaipur in the town on Tuesday.

Local leaders and activists of BNP brought out a procession in the town protesting the arrest warrants issued against Tarique.

A number of courts across the country issued warrants for the arrest of the BNP senior vice chairman in defamation cases filed for his disparaging remarks about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
