New IGP pays tributes to Bangabandhu

Newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mazar at Tungipara in Gopalganj district Thursday afternoon, reports UNB.

Shahidul Hoque offered fateha and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman.

Senior police officers, deputy commissioner (DC) of Gopalganj district and senior government officials were present.

Earlier in the morning, the IGP also placed a wreath at the portrait of Bangbandhu at Dhanmondi-32.

He also paid tributes to the martyred police members, who sacrificed their lives during the Liberation War in 1971, by placing floral wreath at Rajarbagh Police Memorial Monument in the city.
