Newly elected KCC mayor takes charge

KHULNA, Sept 14 (UNB): The newly-elected Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor, Talukdar Abdul Khaleq, took charge Sunday morning.
KCC chief executive officer Tapan Kumar handed over the charge to the new mayor at a ceremony on behalf of acting mayor Maniruzzaman Moni. Moni was not present due to illness.
Divisional Commissioner M Yunusur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner M Ziaul Alam, Police Super YM Belalur Rahman and high officials of KCC were present.
Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khaleq, in a speech, said he would try to build up a corruption-free and welfare oriented city corporation.
