Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said on Tuesday the dream of a caretaker government of BNP would never be fulfilled because the present government will hold the next parliament election as per the Constitution, reports BSS.
Bangladesh will hold the next election in the same manner in which election is held in the USA, the UK, Canada and Singapore, the minister said while speaking at a programme here.
The Shibpur union unit of Awami League (AL) organised the programme as part of its drive to enroll new members.
Union AL president Md Selim chaired the meeting while district AL general secretary and district council chairman Abdul Momin Tulu, upazila AL president Mosharraf Hossain, vice chairman Md Yunus and district AL leader Mainul Hossain, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Tofail said the election will be held in a free, fair and neutral manner and hoped that the election will be a participatory one with participation of all political parties.
