Next polls to be a participatory one: Tofail

NARAYANGANJ, Feb 17 (BSS): Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said here today that the upcoming 11th parliamentary election would be an inclusive and participatory one.
The Election Commission will conduct the election as per the constitution of the country, he said.
He came up with the observations at the inaugural ceremony of the newly-constructed Partex Cables Limited at Haripur, Kuripara under Bandar Police Station this afternoon.
AKM Salim Osman MP, Deputy Commissioner Rabbi Mia, counding Chairman of Partex Star Group MA Hashem and its Managing Director Aziz Al Mahmud spoke on the occasion.
The Partex Cables Limited has been built at a cost of Taka 250 crore.
Tofail Ahmed, also a presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League, paid tribute to Bangabandhu and said the independence of the country got momentum with the homecoming of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on January 10.
He said the people of the country have been experiencing development in various fields under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The country would turn into a middle- income one by the year 2024, he hoped.
He said the court and the Election Commission will decide whether Begum Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman will be able to take part in the election or not.
Later, the minister went round different sections of the factory.
