BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed has said his party aims to build a Jatiya Sangsad (JS) where the voices of the people will be truly heard, reports BSS
He said there will be no more dance and songs in the JS and that it will not serve as a platform for any kind of terrorists.
The BNP leader made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a meeting of the activists of its women's wing at Charingia Palakata Fish Landing Station under Chakoria upazila in Cox's Bazar on Tuesday.
"No future democratic government will be able to go off track anymore. In parliament, discussions will focus on people's development and the country's democratic rights," he added.
Salahuddin Ahmed further said, "In the future Parliament, laws will be enacted to help Bangladesh move forward. We want a Parliament where excessive praise and flattery no longer exist, where members speak for the people, and where accountability is ensured. Through such a Parliament, we aim to set an example on the world stage."
"The upcoming election will determine the direction of Bangladesh's progress. It will be an election to realise the true democratic rights of the people and to implement what we are preparing for, standing on the blood of martyrs. We believe it will be the most important election in the nation's history. It will change the country's fate, strengthen democracy, give a firm foundation to all democratic institutions, and ensure that these institutions function as safeguards of democracy," he added.
