The bye-election to Narayanganj-5 parliamentary constituency that fell vacant following the death of Jatiya Party MP Nasim Osman will be held on June 26, reports UNB.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad announced the poll schedule at a press conference at the EC media centre Monday.
The last date for the submission of nomination papers has been set for May 29, while the scrutiny of the papers will be done on June 1. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is June 9.
EC's deputy secretary Mihir Sarwar Morshed was appointed as the returning officer for the by-election to the seat comprising Narayanganj Thana and Bandar Thana.
