Today (Sunday) is the 84th birthday of eminent columnist, journalist and writer Nirmal Sen, reports BSS.
In this connection, a meeting will be held at Bangabandhu Poverty Reduction and Rural Development Academy at 10:00 am today (Sunday).
He died after battling a debilitating stroke that struck him in 2003. He died on January 8, 2013.
Nirmal Sen was also a politician and headed the Trotskyite Sramik-Krishak Samajbadi Dal and later the Democratic Revolutionary Party.
Nirmal Sen got involved in politics, early in his life, during the 'Quit India' movement in 1942. Later, he joined the 'Anushilan Samity'.
A patriot and dedicated soul, Nirmal Sen, was better known for his writings. He was also a journalists' union leader.
