Re-voting in two centres of Kurigram-4 constituency now could be held as the Supreme Court on Sunday stayed a High Court order that had stayed the re-polling in the two centres. Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division Justice Hasan Foyez Siddique passed the order in response to a petition filed by the Election Commission and Ruhul Amin, a candidate of Jatiya Party (JP). Additional Attorney General MK Rahman said with the SC order now there is no obstacle to re-voting in Kurigram-4 constituency. On January 15, an HC bench stayed re-polling in the two centers, including Roumari Keramatia Madrasah and Char Bandaber Primary School under the constituency. The HC order came following a petition filed by AL candidate Mohammad Zakir Hossain with the High Court seeking recount of the votes cast on January 5, according to a news agency.
