President of Workers Party of Bangladesh (WPB) Rashed Khan Menon has said no conspiracy can thwart the trial of war criminals.
He said trial proceedings of International Crimes Tribunal are going on despite conspiracy hatched by the actors at home and abroad, says a press release.
Menon, also the minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, was speaking at a discussion, organised by the Workers Party of Bangladesh at the National Press Club in the city on Friday marking the 70th anniversary of victory against Fascism and Nazism.
Comrade Ajoy Roy was present as the chief guest on the occasion while Russian Ambassador in Dhaka Alexander A Nikolaev attended it as the special guest.
The minister said the local collaborator of Pakistani occupation forces Jamaat-e-Islami must be tried.
Highlighting the trial of war crimes carried out by the Nazis during Second World War, Menon said recently Nuremburg tribunal has started trial of one more member of Nazis. So, war crimes trial has no time-limit.
He recalled with due respect the glorious role of Soviet Red Army in protecting humanity during Second World War.
Mentioning the different role of the Army in favour of humanity during the war, he said the Army freed about 0.1 million forced labourers from Auschwitz concentration camp run by Nazis in May in 1945.
Nazis would use them to retain war economy, a system that encouraged arms race, he added.
