No foreign pressure on Khaleda’s arrest, says Asaduzzaman

State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan, MP, said on Saturday there is no foreign pressure against arresting BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, reports BSS.
"We are respectful to the law and if necessary she (Khaleda Zia) will be arrested following the due process of law," he said replying to a query in a Meet The Press held at the auditorium of the Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) in the city.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina never bows down to illegal pressure from any quarter and none, including Khaleda Zia, is above the law," he also said.
Asked about the progress in investigation into the killing of writer-bloger Avijit Roy, he said, "Unexpected progress has been made in the investigation and many persons are suspected."
Terming it a planned murder, he also said, "Farabi and many others have so far been arrested to this end and a list of suspected persons is now being prepared. They will soon be arrested."
"The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) expressed their desire to assist Bangladesh police to investigate the murder of Avijit as he was a US citizen," he said.
DRU President and General Secretary Sakhawat Hossain Badsha and Ilias Hossain spoke on the occasion.
