No one can delete Bangabandhu\\\'s name: Quader

NATORE, Aug 29 (BSS): Communications Minister Obaidul Quader, MP, has categorically said that none possesses power to delete the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as his name is inscribed in people's heart.
He said that Bangabandhu had liberated the nation and his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for building the nation. So, none has ability to stop the development process.
The minister was addressing a mourning meeting marking the 39th martyrdom day of Bangabandhu at Shingra Court Ground in the district this afternoon as the chief guest.
In the meeting, he announced that Tk 150 million development work of the Natore-Bogra highway will start within a week.
With Upazila AL President Shafiqul Islam in the chair, State Minister for ICT Junayed Ahmed Polok, Shafiqul Islam Shimul, District AL President Advocate Sazedur Rahman Khan, former state minister Ahad Ali Sarker, Upazila AL President Ohidur Rahman and Upazila Chairman Shariful Islam also spoke.
Mr Quader said a stable government is a must for peace and progress of the country and asked the people not to be misguided by the catchy slogans of BNP-Jamaat.
He said the present government, in line with Bangabandhu's policy of building Sonar Bangla, has been working relentlessly for welfare of the poor people and making them economically solvent.
The minister criticised the BNP-Jamaat axis for its destructive politics and said people are disappointed and tired of their negative politics.
Mr Quader listed various development programmes adopted by the present government and said most of its election pledges are going to be fulfilled in phases.
He said the present government has been implementing short, mid and long-term development projects for building smooth, safe and people-friendly communication system in the country. He added that all the affected roads and bridges would be repaired and developed. "We are working relentlessly to renovate, maintain and repair the damaged roads and highways across the country," the minister said adding that some effective steps have already been undertaken to free the roads from jam and accident.
