GOPALGANJ, Oct 16 (bdnews24.com): Commerce Minister Faruk Khan Saturday reiterated that there was no scope to settle the dispute over the opposition chief's house in Dhaka Cantonment politically and that the country's laws must be respected.
He was addressing a public gathering at Moksudpur Uapazila Sadar in Gopalganj.
"The issue will be settled through the laws and the High Court (HC) has already come up with this verdict after rejecting a writ petition filed by her lawyers challenging the government notice," Faruk said.
The commerce minister also accused Begum Khaleda Zia of practising Pakistani and militant politics.
He said that Khaleda's two sons - Tarique Rahman and Arafat Rahman Koko had indulged in corruption and looting during the last tenure of BNP. "We, the Awami League (AL), have come to power with the people's overwhelming support."
Muksudpur Upazila Chairman Rabiul Alam Sikder, Upazila AL President Atiqur Rahman Mia and General Secretary Shah Akram Hossain Jafar, among others, attended the programme.
