Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu said Saturday that no dialogue could be held with BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and the anti-Liberation elements as they are involved in militancy and hatching conspiracy to foil the ongoing trial of war criminals, reports BSS.
"There will be no dialogue with BNP and its allies over mid-term general election as BNP chairperson supported militancy in the past and took side to save the war criminals," he said.
Mr Inu, also the president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), was addressing as the chief guest the representatives' conference of the party's greater Mymensingh unit at Shaid Abdul Jabber auditorium in Mymensingh Zilla Parishad in the town.
Criticising the BNP for 'patronising' anti-liberation elements, he said those who supported militancy for creating anarchy across the country in the past cannot be the spokesperson of democracy.
Khaleda Zia is now not a member of country's democratic club as she had worked with the anti-liberation forces to destroy the country's democratic spirit, he said adding that a section of intellectuals were also working to materialise the ill-motive of Khaleda Zia.
The minister said JSD was formed as a political platform through the War of Liberation and it would work for the freedom-loving people of the country.
Chaired by district JSD President Advocate Gias Uddin, the function was also addressed, among others, by JSD Standing Committee Member Shirin Akhter, MP, Central JSD leader Lutfa Taher, MP, Central Organising Secretary Shawkat Raihan, District JSD Secretary Advocate Sadik Hossain, Shafiqul Islam Minto and advocate Nazrul Islam Chunnu.
