A nonagenarian man testified Wednesday in the trial of Maulana Abdus Subhan, accusing the incumbent nayeb- e-ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami for killing one Kolimuddin Khan with the help of his accomplices from Razakar Bahini during the War of Liberation, reports BSS.
Hossain Sarder, aged about 99, from village Shrikol Diyarapara under Ataikula police station in Pabna, testified as 20th prosecution witness (PW) at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2.
Taking the mike as PW-20, Hossain corroborated the deposition of PW-19, Nizamuddin Khan, who submitted his deposition Tuesday.
"Sobhan Maulana with the help of Razakar commander Samad picked Kolimuddin Khan from a tea stall on a day in Bengali month of Bhadra during the war. Later they took him to Pabna. Next day Kolimuddin's brother Noimuddin, nephew Nizamuddin, Akkas and others went out to look for him. I also went with them," said the witness.
"We went towards Kuchiyamura and as we reached beside the temple there, we heard the sound of a vehicle and we hide ourselves. From our refuge we saw Subhan Mawlana with the help of Razakar made Kolimuddin to come down from the vehicle and took him inside the temple. A moment later we heard loud bang of shots and Subhan and his people left the place after that," Hossain added.
