Shaheed Noor Hossain Day was observed with due solemnity Tuesday, reports bdnews24.com.
Noor Hossain, a leader of Awami League's youth wing Jubo League, was killed in police firing on this day in 1987 in an anti-autocracy demonstration during the regime of HM Ershad, with the slogan 'Down with autocracy, let democracy be freed' inscribed in white paint on his chest and back.
Many parties and organisations took out various programmes marking the day.
The programmes include placing wreathes at the grave of Noor Hosain at Jurain, paying tributes at Shaheed Noor Hossain Square, discussion sessions and offering Milad and Doa Mahfil.
