The journalists, press workers and all employees of The Bangladesh Observer and the Weekly Chitrali will observe a token hunger strike today (Monday) to press home their demand for payment of all arrears, reports UNB.
Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), Press Workers Federation and Employees Federation will be present at the Observer Bhaban in the city during the hunger strike programme from 10 am to 5:00 pm.
The union leaders urged the government to compel the Observer management under the law of the country to pay arrears and other dues to the employees of the newspapers.
