Offenders to be punished: Kamal

State Minister for Home Asduzzaman Khan said on Thursday actions will be taken after identifying the criminals who have issued death threats to 10 prominent citizens, including the Dhaka University Vice Chancellor, reports UNB.
"Whoever the offenders are whether they are members of Ansarullah Bangla Team or other groups will be identified and punished. Detectives are working to identify them," Asaduzzman said during a meeting with Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters' Forum at the secretariat on Thursday.
"It was a threat to the pro-liberation forces and those who received death threat will be given security," said the junior minister.
Dhaka University Vice Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique and nine other prominent citizens received letters on Wednesday that threatened to kill them.
Prime Minister's Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam's name was on the top of the list. The others are Ganajagaran Mancha spokesman Imran H Sarker, prominent writer Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, Dhaka University teacher Kaberi Gayen, Jagannath Hall Provost Ashim Sarker and Awami League MP Tarana Halim.
