Officials asked to perform responsibilities during polls

HABIGANJ, Dec 5 (BSS): Election officials of Habiganj district have been urged to perform their responsibilities with outmost sincerity during the ninth Jatiya Sangsad and third upazila polls to be held in December and January.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district Mohammad Abul Kashem Talukder made the appeal while speaking at an inaugural function of a two-day workshop organised by upazila election office and sadar upazila administration at Habiganj Brindaban Government College Friday.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Salma Tanzia presided over the function.
A total of 97 presiding officers, 433 assistant presiding officers and 922 polling officers are taking part in the workshop.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said the government and the Election Commission have engaged their full efforts to hold free, fair and credible polls in the country.
