Oil Gas committee begins long march

The National Committee for the Protection of Oil and Gas Resources and Power and Ports Sunday began seven-day long march towards Phulbari in Dinajpur to press home its seven-point demand, reports bdnews24.com.
The committee began their march from the capital's Muktangan around noon after the committee Convenor Sheikh Md Shahidullah declared the programme in a rally where many activists took part.
The long march is scheduled to end on October 30 through a rally at Phulbari.
The seven-point demand includes state ownership of all national resources, cancellation of regulations contrary to national interest, formulation of laws, banning export of minerals and open pit mining.
