One killed, 30 hurt as AL, BNP clash at different places

NATORE, Apr 4: A man was killed and 18 others were injured in a bloody clash between two groups of Awami League (AL) and BNP at Dahia village in Singra Upazila Saturday, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Abdus Samad (45), a supporter of BNP.
Police and witnesses said the clash erupted in the morning between the supporters of AL leader and former Dahia UP member Khayer Ali and BNP leader and sitting UP member Kamal over establishing supremacy in the area.
At one stage the supporters of Khayer swooped on the houses of the men of Kamal member triggering the fierce clash.
At least 19 people, including Abdus Samad, were injured in the clash.
Later, Samad died at a local medical centre at about 10:15am.
The other injured people were admitted to the local hospitals and clinics.
Another report adds from Munshiganj: Four Awami League activists were injured in a bomb attack at Adhara village in Sadar Upazila Thursday night.
Of the injured, Shafiqul, 20, and Hannan, 22, were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Two other injured were released from local hospital after first aid.
Local AL activists alleged that some BNP activists threw two bombs on them as they chased them when they were shifting the bombs in two sacks from the area.
BOGRA Apr 4: Eight people, including three women, were injured Saturday in post-polls violence following by-elections two days ago in Bogra-6 and 7 constituencies, reports bdnews24.com.
The BNP and the Awami League (AL) supporters clashed over the election results at Gabtoli Upazila, the police said.
Several houses were damaged during the clashes in the morning, Gabtoli police chief Tofazzal Hossain told the news agency.
Most of the injured were AL supporters and one was a BNP activist, the police official said. They were receiving treatment in Gabtoli health complex, he added.
Both seats went to BNP in the by-election.
