Condemning the murder of blogger Niloy, Bangladesh Online Activist Forum (BOAF) demanded on Friday immediate arrest and punishment to the killers, reports UNB.
In a statement, BOAF president Kabir Chowdhury Tonmoy said besides being a matter of regret, the culture of killing intellectuals of the soil established in the country is terrible for the nation, which impedes the flourishing of the future generation's knowledge.
On Friday noon, assailants killed blogger Niloy Chatterjee (40) in the city's Khilgaon area. A group of miscreants numbering 5-6 entered his flat where he used to live with his wife and younger sister, and hacked Niloy to death.
BOAF president Kabir Chowdhury said Niloy was an active online activist and connected to the Ganagagaran Mancha.
After Niloy was killed, it is proved again that the fundamentalist groups had prepared a blueprint and still active in the killing of bloggers, said Kabir.
