Online system will make polls process transparent, fair: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal on Sunday said the introduction of online system will ensure electoral transparency and make the process easy and fair, reports BSS.

He said this while inaugurating the 'Online Nomination Submission System (ONSS)' and 'Smart Election Management App' at a function at the Nirbachan Bhaban in the city's Agargaon area.

"The app which has been opened today will help much to ensure electoral transparency. So, we should learn how to use the system," the CEC said.

Speaking about online voting, he said this system is yet to be launched anywhere in the world, but neighboring India is working to introduce the system so that people can cast their votes online through mobile phones staying home.
