A two-day orientation programme for the members of parliament (MPs) who elected for the first-time began in the Parliament on Sunday. Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury inaugurated the programme with 50 MPs participating in it. The aim of the programme is to make the MPs aware of the constitution, parliamentary rules of procedure, conventional parliamentary rules and the activities of standing committees. Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said the 10th parliament is an important chapter for parliamentary democracy in Bangladesh. “Parliament is run by the constitution, rules of procedure and conventional rules.
