RAJBARI, Feb 19 (UNB): A leader of an outlawed party was killed in a violent gunfight between his accomplices and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel at Bangram village in Sadar Upazila Thursday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Samad Molla alias Samad Member alias Aziz commander of the banned Purbo Banglar Communist Party (ML-Janajuddha).
The RAB sources said a gang of outlaws assembled on the embankment of the Padma River near Laxmikol Government Primary School at night and was holding a secret meeting to carry out terrorist activities in the area.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the RAB rushed to the spot and urged the outlaws to surrender to them.
