Papia, husband jailed for 3.5 years

A Dhaka court has sentenced expelled Jubo Mohila League leader Shamima Nur Papia and her husband Mafizur Rahman Sumon to three and a half years in prison each in a case filed over amassing wealth beyond known sources of income, report agencies.
Judge of Dhaka Special Judge Court-3 Abu Taher passed the order on Thursday and fined them Tk 0.5 million each, in default, to suffer six months more in rigorous imprisonment.
