Peaceful polling in Barisal div barring stray incidents

BARISAL Dec 29 (UNB): Peaceful polling marked by heavy turnout was reported from all the constituencies of Barisal division barring some stray incidents.
In Bhola, Navy team held Lalmohan Poursava Mayor Enayet Kabir on charge of creating obstruction to a group of people for voting at Mahila College centre at 11-30am. He was later handed over to the police.
Besides, BNP agents were allegedly thrown out of two polling booths in two centres.
In Barisal-5 constituency, Assistant Presiding Officer Shahabuddin of Harinaphulia centre was withdrawn following complaint by some voters of trying to influence them. BNP candidate complained of 'election engineering.'
In Jhalakathi, BNP agents were allegedly thrown out of polling booths by the rivals at Shekherhat and Shirjug centres.
